Karine Oliveira is an Electronic Engineer and Patent Specialist who joined Licks Attorneys’ Rio de Janeiro office in 2021 to work with intellectual property, mainly with prosecution of patent applications at the Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office (BRPTO). Prior to joining the firm, she gained experience as an intern analyzing technical opinions from the BRPTO and preparing briefs to comply with said opinions. Additionally, Ms. Oliveira is familiar with the Brazilian Patent Statute, normative instructions and examination guidelines issued by the BRPTO, as well as the main intellectual property treaties.
