BRPTO to cease accepting PPH requests for IPC H04 applications in 2025
On Friday, October 3, the BRPTO announced that the limit for PPH requests for IPC H04 patent applications in 2025 has been reached. The limit was established by BRPTO/DIRPA’s Ordinance #016/2025, which took effect October 1, 2025.
Note that the limit for other IPC classifications has not yet been met.
As per BRPTO/DIRPA’s Ordinance #26/2024, the BRPTO will reject PPH requests submitted after the quarterly limit has been reached, including any amendments filed with the requests. Furthermore, as established by Ordinance #48/2024, the BRPTO will accept a total of 3,200 new PPH requests in 2026.
