Gabriela Monteiro joined Licks Attorney’s São Paulo Office as an attorney at law in 2021. Before joining Licks Attorneys, Ms. Monteiro was, for several years, an associate at a large full-service law firm based in Rio de Janeiro, where she was active in the areas of antitrust & competition, compliance, and administrative & regulatory law. Recently, she worked at a boutique law firm specialized in constitutional, administrative, and regulatory law. Throughout this period, Ms. Monteiro gained experience advising clients in varied matters arising from several industries, such as tobacco, pharmaceutical, gaming, airport, and basic sanitation.
Ms. Monteiro focuses on providing legal advice to clients regarding regulatory consults in general and complex disputes (primarily administrative proceedings). She has experience in representing clients in administrative procedures, including before the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE), Brazil’s FDA (ANVISA), Brazil’s Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), and courts of auditors. Specifically, in the antitrust area, Ms. Monteiro represents clients in general procedures before CADE, including anti-competitive conducts investigations and merger filings. In the compliance field, she holds expertise in conducting internal investigations in companies and developing corporate integrity programs. In addition, Ms. Monteiro was a coordinator of the panel named “The allocation of antitrust risks in M&A transactions” in the 25th International Seminar on Competition Policy of 2019 and a debating member of the panel about competition in the digital market in the “Semana de Política de Tecnologia em Brasília” of 2018.
