João Henrique Lima joined Licks Attorneys in 2018 and is a mechanical engineer and patent specialist. His intellectual property experience encompasses drafting and prosecution of patent applications according to the Brazilian patent practice as well as the enforcement of patents after grant.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Lima gained experience as a patent specialist at a prominent Brazilian law firm, working on the prosecution of patent applications and providing clients with opinions on patentability.

As an acting member of Licks Attorneys’ technical staff, Mr. Lima analyzes BRPTO’s written opinions as well as third party submissions, besides providing technical assistance to our litigation group. He also carries out searches in general, such as infringement, correspondence and prior art searches, and infringement and freedom-to-operate analysis.
