Samir Cavalcante joined Licks Attorneys’ Office in Rio de Janeiro in 2020. Mr. Cavalcante previously worked with Licks Attorneys as technical advisor in lawsuits involving chemical patents and patent applications. He has been working with different national and international institutions on design and synthesis of active pharmaceutical ingredients and chemical defense.

Mr. Cavalcante is the inventor of two patents on novel active pharmaceutical ingredients (design and synthesis of cholinesterase reactivators and inhibitors and uses thereof; patents pending), as well as a reviewer for JCR-indexed scientific journals and books: Elsevier Books (2020), Journal of the Brazilian Chemical Society (2020-), Chemico-Biological Interactions (2019-), Archives of Toxicology (2018-), Food and Chemical Toxicology (2018-), Current Neuropharmacology (2016-). He was also an lecturer in courses on Chemical Defense and Toxicology organized by OPCW, Brazilian Army and Air Force (Galeão Air Base Hospital), from 2014 to 2019.
